More than 15,000 students from all 50 states, Guam, Puerto Rico, Canada, Germany, and Mexico were in attendance at the conference. In Castro’s competition, he was tested on his knowledge in marketing, economics, promotion, and financial analysis. In addition, Castro had several role play events where he had to present case scenarios to business people who included CEOs, managers, and owners of companies in the business services industry. Castro has been enrolled in the Marketing Co-op program at Dobie is completing a two-year internship with Washington Mutual Bank. “Toby has served as the Dobie DECA President this year and did an outstanding job representing Dobie as well as Texas DECA at the competition,” said Karen Daigle, marketing teacher and DECA coordinator at Dobie. “To be named in the top 10 at this International Conference is fantastic. I am very proud of Toby’s accomplishments.” |
