The Texas Business and Education Coalition's
2007 Elementary School Honor Roll has shined a spotlight on Pasadena
ISD schools once again.
Pearl Hall Elementary was named to the honor
for the fourth time, while Frazier Elementary boasts first time
honors on the list. Pasadena schools have made the honor roll since
the award began in 2000.
The award recognizes the state's best performing public
elementary and secondary schools. As part of the TBEC award
criteria, schools who qualify for the award must be rated exemplary
or recognized by the Texas Education Agency, have consistent
improvement over the past three years in reading and math and have
shown steady or improved overall performance over the past three
years.
As a result of its academic performance, Frazier received an
exemplary rating from the Texas Education Agency in early August.
Pearl Hall was named a recognized campus by the TEA.
The two schools, along with others named
statewide, will be honored at special ceremony in Austin in October.
