Many schools in the Pasadena Independent School District will be holding orientations or other informational meetings during the month of August. Listed below are meetings and other Back to School events planned in Pasadena ISD. 

Southmore Intermediate
Southmore Intermediate School will hold its sixth grade orientation at 9 a.m., Aug. 16.

Beverly Hills Intermediate
Bear Camp for incoming sixth graders will be held from 8 a.m.-12 p.m., Aug. 17. Standardized dress is required.

San Jacinto Intermediate
San Jacinto Intermediate’s Tiger Camp will be held August 18. Orientation for students will be held from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. with lunch provided. A “meet and greet” time with parent is planned from 8-8:30 a.m. in the library, with a parent informational meeting scheduled from 8:30-10 a.m.

South Houston Intermediate
South Houston Intermediate is having its seventh grade orientation from 8-11 a.m. on Aug. 21.

Park View Intermediate
Sixth grade orientation for Park View Intermediate students will be held from 4:30-7:30 p.m., Aug. 22 in the school cafeteria.

Atkinson Elementary
Atkinson Elementary will hold its Kindergarten Meet The Teacher night at 6:45 p.m., Aug. 23. Parents are asked to bring any school supplies at this time. Parent orientations will also be held in September. They are as follows:

• Sept. 6 – Kindergarten, 6:30 p.m., First Grade, 7:30 p.m.
• Sept. 11 – Second Grade, 6:30 p.m., Third Grade, 7:30 p.m.
• Sept. 20 – Fourth Grade, 6:30 p.m.

De Zavala Fifth Grade Center
The De Zavala Fifth Grade Center is holding its Meet The Teacher night from 5:30-7 p.m., Aug. 23 at the school.

Dobie High School
Freshmen orientation is scheduled for Aug. 23. Orientation for Beverly Hills Intermediate parents will begin at 6 p.m. and for Thompson Intermediate parents at 7:30 p.m.

Young Elementary
Young Elementary School will have its Meet The Teacher night from 6-8 p.m., Aug. 23.

Frazier Elementary
Frazier Elementary’s Meet The Teacher night is scheduled from 4:30-6:30 p.m., Aug. 23.

Parks Elementary
Parks Elementary’s Meet the Teacher hour will be held from 5-6 p.m., Aug. 23.

Moore Elementary
A Meet The Teacher night is scheduled from 4-7 p.m., Aug. 23 for Moore Elementary parents.

Morris Fifth Grade Center
The Morris Fifth Grade Center’s Family Visitation Night will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Aug. 23.

Pearl Hall Elementary
Pearl Hall’s Meet The Teacher event will be held from 3-6 p.m., Aug. 24.

Stuchbery Elementary
Stuchbery Elementary will hold its Meet The Teacher day from 2-6 p.m. on Aug. 24.

Thompson Intermediate
Thompson Intermediate School will host Lions Camp for incoming sixth grade students on from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Aug. 24.  Students will meet their homeroom teachers, tour the building, and learn about special events and dress code. The  National Junior Honor Society, cheerleaders, and band will be on hand to welcome the new students to Thompson.  Parents are encouraged to attend a special information forum at noon.  Buses will run from and return to area elementary campuses as follows: Moore-9:30 a.m., Genoa-9:30 a.m., Burnett-9:45 a.m., Frazier-9:45 a.m. and return to each campus by 1:30 p.m.

Pasadena Memorial High School
Pasadena Memorial High School will kick off orientation activities at 5 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 25 with a dinner followed by a dance for our freshmen given by the school’s senior class. Freshmen will report to school on Monday where they will begin their orientation. They will go through their schedules, lunch and end the day with a pep rally. Sam Rayburn High School
The ninth grade “Texan Experience” meeting will be held at 6 p.m., Aug. 27. Freshman Open House will be held at 6 p.m., Sept. 18.

Turner Elementary
Turner Elementary will have its school supply drop off night from 4-6 p.m., Aug. 27. Curriculum nights are scheduled Sept. 11 for third through fifth grades and Sept. 13 for kindergarten through second grade. 

Gardens Elementary
Gardens Elementary’s Meet The Teacher day will be held from 2:30-3:30 p.m., Aug. 27. At that time, parents will be able to meet their child’s teachers and bring school supplies.

Jessup Elementary
Jessup Elementary is holding a supply drop-off and Meet The Teacher event from 1:30-3:30 p.m., Aug. 27. 

L.F. Smith Elementary
Several informational meeting are planned at L.F. Smith Elementary. Orientation for morning pre-kindergarten classes will be held at 10 a.m., Aug. 27 and orientation for the afternoon classes is scheduled for 12 p.m. that same day. Kindergarten orientation and supply drop-off is planned for 1 p.m. on Aug. 27. An open house is scheduled for 6 p.m., Sept. 6 and the school’s Family Reading Night at scheduled at 6 p.m., Sept. 27.
