The
community can follow the yellow brick road with the Dobie Fine Arts
department’s production of “The Wizard of Oz.” Performances will be
held at 7:30 p.m., Feb 1-3 and 3 p.m., Feb. 4 in the school
auditorium.
Tickets to the show are $8 for adults and students, $7 for senior
citizens, and $6 for groups of 20 or more with advance reservations.
Tickets for all performances may be purchased in advance or at the

Students performing in the musical include Kim Salazar (Dorothy),
Byron Hagan (Uncle Henry), Genny McAuliffe (Aunt Em), Josh Hummel
(Zeke and the Lion), Jason Box (Hickory and Tin Man), Jake Byrd
(Hunk and Scarecrow), Chandler Sosebee (Wicked Witch of the West),
Amanda Krivik (Glenda), Brian Sawyer (Professor Marvel and Oz),
Catherine Burton (Miss Gultch), Preston Andrews (Guard to Emerald
City), Ashley Guerrero (Nikko, head flying monkey), Spencer Smith (Winkie
general). Other cast members include Rodell Duff, Cy Fondal and
Dominic Gilbert (crows), and Samantha Rodriguez, Exie Peagues and
Alanna Grau (trees). Featured as Munchkins are Travis Robertson
(mayor), Elizabeth Sorensen (coroner), Vinicia Smothers (barrister),
Kristin Tran and Cassie Murray (city fathers), Nikita Beltram,
Rebecca Castillo and Heather Frederick (Lullaby League), and John
Forgy, Marvin Henderson and Mackenzie Posey (Lollipop Guild). |
