Groundbreakings planned for new
Southmore, San Jacinto campuses

Groundbreaking ceremonies for the new Southmore Intermediate School and San Jacinto Intermediate School will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 31.

Southmore’s groundbreaking will occur at 9 a.m. at the school’s new site at 2000 Patricia Lane, located near the intersection of Pasadena Boulevard and Strawberry. At 10:30 a.m., ground will be broken for San Jacinto’s campus at 3600 Red Bluff, between Preston and Burke in the parking lot behind The Summit.

Both projects were approved by voters as part of a district bond issue in November 2004. The current Southmore and San Jacinto campuses are both more than 50-years-old. Southmore opened its doors to students in 1952, while San Jacinto opened in 1959.
