In an effort to stay competitive with surrounding districts, the Pasadena Independent School District has increased its pay rates for substitute teachers and nurses.

The new rates were approved by the district’s Board of Trustees at the regular December board meeting and became effective on Jan. 3, 2007.

The district’s substitute pay rates are now as follows:

Daily Substitute Pay Rates
Certified Subs - $85
Degreed Subs - $75
Non-Degreed Subs - $70
LVN Licensed Vocational Nurse - $80
RN-Registered Nurse - $100

Long Term Substitute Rates (more than 10 days)
Certified Subs - $115
Degreed Subs - $90
Non-Degreed Subs - $80
LVN Licensed Vocational Nurse - $90
RN-Registered Nurse - $115
Retired Teacher - Daily Rate at Time of Retirement
