The Sam Rayburn High School Tex-Anns invite the public to attend their Performance Dinner at 6 p.m. on Feb. 8 at the school.

The dinner is a fundraiser to help with entry fees, costumes and traveling expenses for two competitions the dance team is participating in later in February and March. Tickets are $10 for the dinner and performance and $3 for the performance. A barbecue plate will be served in the cafeteria, and the performance will be held in the school’s auditorium.

A variety of groups will be performing dances including the team, the officers, dance training classes and Rachel’s Dance Studio.

“It will be fun for people because they get to see what all of the long hours of practice are for, and it will be a preview to what we have in store for competition,” said dance team director Jennifer Williams. “This is the first time we are going to competition as a team, so we are excited to perform for our students, parents and community first.”
