Nine Pasadena ISD football players were selected to the Texas High School Coaches Association (THSCA) and State Farm Insurance Academic All-State Football teams.  

Chad Summers of Pasadena Memorial and Jeremy Walker from Sam Rayburn High School were named first-team academic all-state. Dobie’s Justin O’Day was selected to the academic all-state second team. 

In addition, Scott Pace from Dobie and Pasadena Memorial’s Jose Grimaldo, Will Jasso, Daniel Langham, Dillon Law and Parker Thompson received academic all-state honorable mentions.

The teams are selected by a point system that awards points for grade point average (GPA), class rank and SAT or ACT score. The student athletes are then placed on teams according to the number of points they have earned.
