Dobie High School marketing student Collin Clark is headed to nationals after taking first place in the business services marketing category at the State DECA Conference.

Clark was one 2,700 students from across the state that competed in certain occupational areas related to their job training.  Students are judged on their knowledge of marketing, economics, and management skills as well as their social and selling skills.  Business owners, managers, and other community leaders were involved with the judging at the conference.  Collin Clark won first place in the Business Services Marketing Competitive Event.

Clark advances to the International Career Development Conference to be held in Anaheim, Calif. this month where he will be competing against the top students in the nation as well as several other countries.

DECA is a youth organization for students who are currently enrolled in a marketing class.  These students work at local employers within the community and are receiving high school and college credit for their work experience.
