The Pasadena ISD’s Strategic Planning Team has completed its work by identifying seven strategies to create the 21st century learning environment we want for our students. The next phase of the work will center on the seven strategies listed below. Action Planning Teams are being formed to develop the plans to implement the seven strategies. This will be the critical piece of the entire project. We need administrators, teachers, parents and community members who are visionary and willing to think creatively to find new solutions to the issues we face.
The Strategies
1. We will ensure rigorous curriculum and relevant learning experiences that promote real life application.
2. We will provide flexible learning environments, structures and schedules that meet the needs of all 21st century learners.
3. We will develop and promote 21st century career and college exploration and preparation programs for all students.
4. We will actively recruit, develop and retain a highly qualified staff.
5. We will relentlessly pursue a culturally responsive approach to meaningful parental engagement.
6. We will ensure vital and ongoing relationships with our business and community partners.
7. We will embed appropriate technologies throughout the district to support both instructional and administrative needs.
Volunteers Needed
This is our opportunity to take the best of what we are doing and redefine our efforts in areas where we need to improve. Many of you have already expressed an interest in helping with the action planning. Please contact Darla Massey-Jones at dmassey-jones@pasadenaisd.org.
I hope many of you will take part in the process. The collective wisdom of all of us will be much better than the wisdom of a few of us. The community has faith that we will create a 21st century learning environment that will prepare our students for anything the world will offer. It is an awesome responsibility.
