Welcome to the Library

Hours:  8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Special arrangements may be made with the librarian for extended use of the library beyond these hours.

Circulation:
Students use the barcode on their individual ids to check out all materials from the library.  They must have their id with them in order to check out materials.

Students may check out three books, two AR books and one other, and one magazine.  All books check out for two weeks and may be brought in and renewed for another two weeks.  Magazines check out for two week and may not be renewed.  This policy may be changed with the consent of the librarian in special circumstances such as extra materials needed for class assignments.

Students may check out materials as long as they have returned all their checked out materials and do not owe for damaged or lost materials.

Library Visits:
Students sent to the library on a library pass must sign in when they arrive and sign out when they leave.  This provides a record of where they have been for the school and the parents.

Unless students are working on assignments which require binders, etc., all personal items should be left in their classrooms or lockers when they visit the library.

The library welcomes necessary visits from students.  However, students must know what their educational purposes are for using the library, accomplish their tasks, and return to their classrooms in a timely manner.

Not Clears:
Weekly overdue/damage notices are sent to students via their reading teachers.  Whenever students think they have received an overdue/damage notice erroneously, they should speak with the librarian as soon as possible.

Students who owe damages and/or have long overdue materials will not receive their report cards until they clear their records in the library.  A letter and overdue notice will be sent to the students' parents in place of their report cards. All library problems must be cleared in the library not the school office.

Wildcat Readers:
Students who achieve their AR reading goals for three six week grading periods will earn the status of Wildcat Readers. They will receive a special library card with a letter explaining the Wildcat Reader privileges.
