American Sign Language

American Sign Language is a linguistically complete and natural language used by the
Deaf community in the U.S. and English speaking Canada. Although ASL is used by english speaking
communities, it has no grammatical similarities to English. It is actually closer
to the syntax used by spoken Japanese.
The Gifted/Talented class participates in learning the history of, as well as a few basic signs
that give them a basic knowledge of ASL.
