Hello Everyone! My name is Maria Jose Garza and I
am one of the Peer Facilitators here at Garfield Elementary. Some of my
responsibilities are Dual Language Coordinator, GT Pullout Teacher, and
Bilingual H.O.S.T.S. program.
I am originally from Mexico, but have been raised in
Houston, Texas. I attended the University of Houston and graduated with
a Bachelors degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. I knew since Middle
School that I wanted to become a teacher. I have taught for about 5 1/2
years and have enjoyed the smiles of all my students.
I have a wonderful husband and a baby girl about to
turn 1! She keeps me busy every afternoon!
