Ja'Quinn's score was so high that he will advance to the next round which will be Sunday, December 9, at the Reliant Stadium prior to the Texans - Buccaneers game. This is a big honor for him to compete, and an honor for us to have him represent Gardens Elementary. This is the first time in a very long time we have had anyone at Gardens place first at the Pasadena sectional much less anyone who got to advance. We’re very proud of him and wish him the best of luck on December 9.

This is a national contest sponsored by Pepsi. PISD holds one of the largest sectionals contests. Scores from three sectionals are compared and the top scores advance to the next round. The top scores have not yet been calculated at this time.
The final competition will be at half-time at the Super Bowl in February.
