Group Project Winner: Mrs. Parrott's Class "Bubbles"

The third and fourth grade students worked really hard to get their projects put together. Once the research was done, and the experiment had been exhaustively checked and rechecked, the big chore was to present it in an interesting and creative way one a trifold board.
Many of them used the computers to put together titles and salient points from their projects. But the real key was: WORK! (surprise, surprise)
Of course, all of the students could count on the support and encouragement of their teachers. We had many judges who generously gave of their time and expertise, asking the children about their projects and evaluating their results.
Hey, where did this participant come from? Have we seen him before? The judges were impressed by the quality and the quantity of projects presented by the aspiring scientists.
The students were even impressed by each other. And interested in what others had compiled. All of the participants were nervous, but they bravely hung in there.
This was the largest and most competitive fair we have had in some time. Some of our judges have come every year for some time. They enjoy the chance to talk to the youngsters and encourage them in their endeavors.
Our judges had the benefit of experts in two languages, also. Some of the experts were students, some were judges. Our principal was delighted to see so much learning taking place, and so much enjoyment in science.
Some of the children waited patiently for a good long while. They had already been involved in classroom contests, and were chosen to represent their classes. They took the job seriously. At the front of the fair, the tally people were busy tallying bananas...er....points from the evaluation sheets the judges were organizing.

The parents, who had done such a tremendous job of supporting and assisting both the school fair and the academic progress of their children, waited patiently in the background.
