NICKELS FOR NEW YORK
GARDENS ELEMENTARY STUDENTS STEP FORWARD
October 9, 2001
New York Police & Fire Widows' & Children's Benefit Fund PO BOX 3713 Grand Central Station New York, NY 10163Dear Sir,
The students of Gardens Elementary in Pasadena, Texas have been profoundly touched and moved by the devastation and destruction that took place in New York City on September 11th. Indeed, all of America has felt the pain and suffering from that terrible day. Although far removed from the situation at the World Trade Center, the students at our school donated their nickels, dimes, and quarters to a fund called NICKELS FOR NEW YORK. The Nickels for NY fund was specifically designated to aid the families of those fire and policemen lost on that day. It is with great pride and humility on behalf of the students and faculty of Gardens Elementary that we present to the New York Police & Fire Widows’ & Children’s Benefit Fund two enclosed checks totaling $550.00. We hope that this token of our sympathy will be of use to those in need of your fund. Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with all of those families, as well as ALL fire and policemen protecting our country from such horrific crimes against humanity! God bless you in your endeavors. May God bless the USA!
Sincerely,
Gardens Elementary School
