NATIONAL CHILDREN'S BOOK WEEK

November 12 - 16, 2001

We held a door contest during this week. Classes disguised their doors and staff members disguised themselves, to the enjoyment of the children. A committee, whose members shall remain anonymous, went around to judge the results.

   Sneak Peek:

Our principals have favorite book characters, too! Toy Story's G.I. Joe figures were Mr. D's.

Mrs. Garcia's pre-kindergarten class chose El primer otono de Clifford as their favorite book.

Mrs. Rollins' kindergarten class decorated their door to match A Magic Tree House.

Bill Martin's Barn Dance decorated Mrs. Balmer's kindergarten door.

Mrs. Moore's class disguised their door as the book Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?

The kindergarten teachers chose to disguise themselves as the characters from the book Tacky, the Penguin.

La cucaracha Martina captured the attention of Mrs. Garza's first graders.

Mrs. Felgner's second graders thoroughly enjoyed the book Henry and Mudge.

Can you guess the book or the character? Mrs. Lopez dressed as the tree from Chicka Chicka Boom Boom.

Ms. Palco's third graders chose the book Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing.

Mr. Lesniewski's fifth graders chose Harry Potter, Live the Magic!

Mr. Lesniewski himself was disguised as the tree from Charlie Brown's Christmas. Hmmmm. The resemblance is astonishing.
