PK- Our goal in pre-kindergarten is to get the students familiar with the mouse as well as with the names of the different parts of the computer. Students will learn to left click on the mouse while coordinating the clicking with the tasks seen on the computer monitor. In addition, students will learn to drag and drop items, double click on items and manipulate moving items. Our main goal for students during this first year is to develop hand-eye coordination while feeling completely comfortable at the computer. During the last nine weeks, we will start to introduce some kindergarten tasks into the curriculum. For some kids, it takes an entire year for them to just get comfortable sitting at the computer. Others find these tasks to be very simple and will be offered more advanced kindergarten goals early in the year. Offering your child 15 minutes at the computer during an average day or even week, will help them to develop these most basic skills more proficiently. All students will be provided with basic internet and computer safety skills as well as technology safety. |
