2- While the foundation for basic computer skills has been laid in the first three years at our schools, additional vital skills will be addressed for the remaining three years. During second grade, students will learn basic skills on the internet from the most basic search to looking for images safely in the classroom and at home. Students will also be introduced to the multi-language settings on Google to allow better searching form them and their families at home. Students will use these search skills to develop individual projects in Paint, PowerPoint and Photo Story 3. Students will also begin simple keyboarding techniques to help develop their abilities to type more proficiently by middle school. Our biggest goal in 2nd grade is to get students comfortable manipulating between programs while learning the basics of the internet. All students will be provided with basic internet and computer safety skills as well as technology safety for their future benefit using http://firewall.wikispaces.com/. |
