From the Desk of The Principals...

Bailey Elementary sits directly across from Strawberry Park and just a few blocks from the Administration Building. Built in 1958, Bailey is rich in history and hosts a great number of distinguished graduates. Our philosophy is to teach all children to be their best and be successful in all their endeavors. This ensures that our school will develop responsible citizens for our own community and all of society.

Bailey, with a strong focus on student success, is constantly striving to develop new programs, initiatives and strategies through our Campus Improvement Plan. We feel that the most important link to student achievement is the active role a parent takes in their student’s learning and academic career. Parenting programs, activity calendars, Family Education Nights, Take Home tote-bags and special family activity days make parental involvement possible.

To further ensure student achievement, Bailey constantly seeks programs that enrich student learning.  We currently have an Extended Day program that helps students bring up their grades and prepare them for the TAKS. For the lower grades, PAIR (Pasadena Accelerated Reading Program) assists students who need extra help in Reading.  Our Extended Year program works with students who need extra help to succeed in their next school year. Bailey also has a special program that works with our Gifted and Talented students to be certain their special talents are recognized and challenged.

Bailey has a bilingual program for grades K-5. We also have an autistic program, which stresses inclusion of our special population. Our Right Choice Behavioral Management Program teaches appropriated behavior and makes students responsible for the choices they make. Our school has expanded our parental program with Family Nights, where parents come to learn strategies and activities to use at home that will help their child become more successful in school.
Bailey strives to meet a student’s need to become a well-rounded, responsible citizen.

Our school has many planned events and activities to facilitate a multi-faceted program in addition to the academic curriculum.  Students are selected to our "Bee Conservationists" and "Bee Recyclists" Teams as we work together to take care of our resources.  Fifth grade students can participate in the Bailey Choir, Band, or Orchestra as well as many Physical Fitness activities.

Some of our students’ favorite activities are the school-wide Right Choice programs that take place each month. Students participate in relays, volleyball, attend picnics and movies, and have a talent show at the end of the year. We also have the DARE program, , Rodeo Week, Chili Cook-off, Science Fair, Kindergarten Graduation. Each week, students go as a class to the Science Lab and to the Computer Lab for hands-on activities.
Bailey Elementary continually strives to help each child "Bee Your Best".
