2008-2009 Applicants

Pasadena Independent School District continues to seek quality teachers for our classrooms. The Alternative Teacher Certification Program is currently accepting applications for the 2008-2009 school year.

Dear Applicant,

Thank you for your interest in the Pasadena Independent School District’s Alternative Certification Program (ATCP). It is the goal of the program to seek out and train the very best teacher candidate. Through interactive hands on training, intern teachers translate their real life expertise into meaningful, in-depth teaching of the students in the Pasadena Independent School District.

Our program provides pre-service training in the form of observation, classroom experiences, interactive instruction, and university coursework. A well supported internship year includes opportunities to observe other exceptional teachers, guidance under a trained mentor, monthly seminars, support from campus leaders, and guidance from the ATCP staff. University coursework continues throughout the internship and supports the chosen certification.

The Pasadena Alternative Certification Program takes pride in supporting the district’s mission to help students fulfill their potential as responsible citizens in an ever changing world. Through our training, “highly qualified” teachers work hard to make sure that no child is ever left behind.

We hope this website provides you with a sense of who we are and how we do business. To the left you will find the four main sections of this site. The first one will provide information to help you with the application process. Feel free to browse throughout the site. You might also connect to the Pasadena Independent School District’s home page to gain further insights. As always we are here to help you as you explore the exciting profession of teaching others.

Please attend one of the Career Choice Seminars for more information on our program.
