ART CARS

We will be using PAINT (PAINTBRUSH, MSPAINT or a similar program)

You may start PAINT by going to Start, Programs, Accessories, Paint

Pictures can be obtained directly from the motortrend.com or can be saved previously.

To save from the website, choose buyers guide, select the manufacturer and the model.

right click picture

next to SAVE AS TYPE choose BITMAP .BMP

Give it a name and save it.

Open the file in Paintbrush

1. The picture has 8 little gray/white squares around the outside of it.

2. Point to the square in the lower right corner. It will turn into < --- >

3. Click, hold and drag mouse to make the picture fill up all of the gray space.

4. Use the tools on the left side of the screen to make different effects, like spray paint.

****IF YOU MAKE A MISTAKE, GO TO EDIT AND UNDO RIGHT AWAY!!***

5. Use VIEW to see the picture in different ways. ZOOM, then LARGE SIZE makes the picture very big, but also a little blurry. AFTER you zoom to large size, try VIEW, ZOOM, SHOW GRID. The grid might make it easier for you to fill in the colors.

***To see full picture again, VIEW, ZOOM, NORMAL SIZE***

  1. You can use the select tool to cut a certain part of the car. Then you can move it away to create some extra space.

7. Use the select tool to copy and paste another part of it in order to make it into a Limo

8. You can continue with your picture by making the car into an ART CAR. Add different colors or anything in order to make your car standout.

9. The assignment name is CARS. You may make as many different cars/trucks as you like. You should save them correctly by putting a number 1 at the end of the word cars for your 1st car. ( 2 after your 2nd car).
