The following Electronic Resources are available to all students and teachers in PISD. All are available for use on campus and home. Please see your campus librarian for current UserID and Passwords.
AtomicLearning		Atomic Learning provides web-based software training for more than 100 applications students and educators use everyday. Our short, easy-to-view-and-understand tutorials are an integral part of a professional development program, a valuable curriculum supplement, and an anytime/anywhere training resource.
BrainPOP PK-12 access search by TEKS		BrainPOP is an educational program that provides curriculum-based content spanning seven main subjects including: Science, Math, English, Social Studies, Health, Arts & Music, and Technology.
		BrainPOP en Español ofrece materias de ciencias, matemáticas, inglés, salud y tecnología que corresponden a las Normas Nacionales de Ciencias, Inglés y Matemáticas para los grados del tercero al octavo. Los temas contienen una Película Animada de 2 a 4 minutos de duración, un Cuestionario Interactivo, un Experimento, una Tira Cómica, una Sección de Consejos Prácticos, un Paseo por el Tiempo y un Crucigrama Imprimible.
		BrainPOP Jr. provides educational movies for K-3 learners. The movies encourage active viewing and are easily paused for students to make predictions and form their own ideas. Each animated movie has leveled quizzes, games, activities, and lesson ideas that develop students' critical thinking and inquiry skills. Designed specifically for early learners, BrainPOP Jr. is easy to navigate and all the content is read aloud so young students can browse the site on their own.

		Natural & Alternative Treatments - consists of over 550 articles as follows: 219 on Herbs and Supplements, 185 on Conditions, 100 on Drug Interaction, 29 on Alternative Therapies and 33 on Homeopathy. These articles are entirely based on double-blind, placebo-controlled studies and other forms of meaningful scientific evidence.
		Consumer Health Complete - convenient access to easily understandable health and medical information. You can search and browse within medical encyclopedias, popular reference books, and magazine articles.
		NoveList (Available to Intermediate and High Schools) an online readers' advisory tool that helps readers find new books based on books they've read or topics in which they are interested. Readers enter a title or author they like, or describe a book they would like to read, and NoveList finds books in its database with matching subject headings.

Gale Intermediate and High School access only *search by Lexile*		Gale Virtual Reference Library - Gale Virtual Reference Library is a database of encyclopedias and specialized reference sources for multidisciplinary research. These reference materials once were accessible only in the library, but now you can access them online from the library or remotely 24/7. Because each library creates its own eBook collection, the content you see may vary if you use the database at different libraries (your school, your public library, or your office).

		Texas Almanac 2006-2007 - an electronic version of the Texas Almanac 2006 - 2007. This database provides information seekers with valuable information about the history, culture, political climate and geography of the state of Texas.
		Literature Resource Center - LRC, Scribner Writers Series Online, Twayne's Authors Online - Find up-to-date biographical information, overviews, full-text literary criticism and reviews on nearly 130,000 writers in all disciplines, from all time periods and from around the world, supplemented by the scholarly materials of the Scribner Writers Series and Twayne's World, U.S., and English Authors Series. TeachingBooks.net PK-12 access		From one easy-to-use website, TeachingBooks makes instantly available original, in-studio movies of authors and illustrators, audio excerpts of professional book readings, guides to thousands of titles and a wealth of multimedia resources on children's and young adult literature. Our hope is that by utilizing TeachingBooks' multimedia resources, educators will better understand the spirit and personality behind books and discover exciting ways to share these insights with children and teens.
TumbleBooks PK-4 access		TumbleBookLibrary is an online collection of TumbleBooks – animated, talking picture books which teach kids the joy of reading in a format they'll love. TumbleBooks are created by adding animation, sound, music and narration to existing picture books in order to produce an electronic picture book which you can read, or have read to you.
