Gifted/Talented Program   JUST FOR OUR G/T STAFF

This page is under construction. More information will be added soon.

It is the responsibility of administrators, counselors, and teachers to obtain the required training in gifted education.  This training is designed to increase their understanding of the nature and needs of  gifted/talented students and knowledge of the state and district laws and goals for this program.

Administrators are required to complete a minimum of six hours of professional development in gifted education related to the nature and needs and program options for these students.

Teachers who provide instruction and services that are a part of the program  for gifted students must have a minimum of 30 hours of staff development
that includes nature and needs of gifted/talented students, assessing student needs, and curriculum and instruction for gifted students.
Annually, G/T teachers are required to complete six hours of professional development in gifted education.

Pasadena ISD offers training throughout the entire year including sessions available during the summer.  Information about sessions offered within the greater Houston area by area school districts and universities as well as the annual TAGT conference is available through campus G/T Liaisons.
