2001-2002 GIFTED/TALENTED PROGRAM
RECOMMENDED TIMELINE FOR IDENTIFICATION
GRADES K-12

This timeline applies to most students with the following exceptions:
* New students to the district - identify as quickly as possible (6-8 weeks)
* Students identified out of district - place upon receipt of gifted/talented documentation
NOTE: Kindergarten - must be complete and begin services by March 1.
Fifth grade must be complete before intermediate school registration (end of January)

NOTE: According to Records Management guidelines, ALL students tested must have originals of the following forms in their student permanent record folder.  Send copies of the same forms to the Gifted/Talented office.
*  Profile (front/back) - all students tested
*  Permission for testing - all students tested
*  Permission to Enroll - identified students only

*  Be sure to note on front of profile the date that student will begin receiving services.
