What is the Significance of Identifying Students as 504? |
| At the end of each school year, the student's accommodations are reviewed and updated if necessary. The file follows the student from grade to grade and school to school. In fact, colleges recognize Section 504 students and will often allow accommodations if the 504 information is current. |

| Section 504 does not guarantee passing grades. |
| 504 does not exempt a student from the TAKS or other standardized tests. |
| 504 is not a funded program. |
| 504 is not protection against disciplinary actions. |
