Welcome the the home of science and technology at Bailey Elementary School. You will notice links above that correspond with the grade of your child. Inside each link, you will see a variety of web pages that you can access from home our anywhere you have internet access. While we do think these sites are great places for your children to visit, we do recommend you fully supervising them while on the computer to ensure their safety. If you have any questions or want to add a great site to the list, feel free to e-mail me. I would love to talk to you! 5- In the fifth grade, Bailey students will start to develop a deeper understanding of computers in their classroom. With a deep foundation over the previous 5 years, students will feel very comfortable manipulating through and using the software available to them. Students will be encouraged to start expressing their interests in a personal page about themselves. With the encouragement of their classroom teachers and the staff, students will not be afraid when presented with a new computer program. Students will be responsible for their page and will be encouraged to present all of their projects throughout the year on this page. This presentation will allow them to not only take ownership for their work, but to help them better understand how the internet is created... one page at a time. Fifth grade, like 2nd - 4th, will be encouraged to improve their typing skills. During this final year at Bailey, our students will be able to participate in regular typing competitions for speed and accuracy. Participating students will benefit tremendously from this challenge and will be better prepared for 21st century jobs in this technologically advanced world. All students will be provided with basic internet and computer safety skills, as well as technology safety for their future benefit using http://firewall.wikispaces.com/. Our biggest goal for fourth grade is to have them leave here feeling comfortable in all aspects of the basics of computing and ready to take their fifth grade technology test and pass with little effort. |

project. Make sure you are on the storyboard view like in the
video and add effects to all of your slides. Save your project! |

| Watch Video #2 | After watching the second video, add transitions
to your entire video in between each set of pictures. Save your project! |
| Watch Video #3 | After watching this video, add your title to
your movie so that your kindergartners know what the movie is
going to be about. Save your project! |
| Watch Video #4 | Finally, add your first name, your grade, your
computer teacher's name and the date to your final slide so that
you will remember everything when we give you a final copy to
take home. Save your project! |

your narration fro your movie and put the finishing touches on
