Inside each link, you will see a variety of web pages that you can access from home our anywhere you have internet access. While we do think these sites are great places for your children to visit, we do recommend you fully supervising them while on the computer to ensure their safety. 4- In the fourth grade, Bailey students will start to develop a deeper understanding of computers in their classroom. With a deep foundation over the previous 5 years, students will feel very comfortable manipulating through and using the software available to them. Students will be encouraged to start expressing their interests in a personal page about themselves. With the encouragement of their classroom teachers and the staff, students will not be afraid when presented with a new computer program. Students will be responsible for their page and will be encouraged to present all of their projects throughout the year on this page. This presentation will allow them to not only take ownership for their work, but to help them better understand how the internet is created... one page at a time. Fourth grade, like 3rd and 2nd, will be encouraged to improve their typing skills. All students will be provided with basic internet and computer safety skills, as well as technology safety for their future benefit using http://firewall.wikispaces.com/. Our biggest goal for fourth grade is to have them leave here feeling comfortable in all aspects of the basics of computing and ready to take their fifth grade technology test and pass with little effort.
