Inside each link, you will see a variety of web pages that you can access from home our anywhere you have internet access. While we do think these sites are great places for your children to visit, we do recommend you fully supervising them while on the computer to ensure their safety. 3- During third grade, Bailey students will be given more time to develop and understand search skills on the internet. Third grade will also be another opportunity to encourage students to become more proficient typers. While we will not spend a lot of time in the classroom devoted to typing skills, we will use our resources to encourage additional typing time. Internet safety will become an even bigger topic in third grade as we discuss and work through even more situations that students should watch for and avoid. Students will be provided with more challenging project development that starts to include more research based information as well as creating citations. Students will work individually or with partners to develop more in depth movies using slightly more challenging steps. Students will be challenged to start using interactive websites or "wikis" where they can help collaborate and develop pages and be responsible for more self motivated learning. Students will be introduced to e-mail during this year in a more leisurely setting so that by the end of the year they are comfortable with manipulating through e-mail. Our biggest goal in 3rd grade is to get the students to feel more connected to their work and more passionate for how technology can improve their learning skills.
